Margret Royds (89) is a Braidwood institution and was recognised as so with the award of an OAM in 2006 for service to community of Braidwood, the preservation of historic properties and promotion of tourism. She is a member of National Trust of NSW, a foundation member of the Braidwood and District Historical Society and a member of CWA. She has supported Girl Guides, the Braidwood Show Society, Garden club, Chamber of Commerce (economic development committee), is a foundation member of Braidwood FM Radio and served on St Andrews Parish council.
“I have been interested in Politics since a school girl attending meetings with my father who was battling to remove death duties, which has ruined many rural families, destroying the incentive to work. I am committed to Government environmental Programmes and have planted thousands of trees and am a member of Braidwood Rural and local land care.”
